The stringent requirements of modern aviation in terms of stability, weight, operating temperature, fire inhibition and shear strength leave little room for compromise when it comes to selecting suitable materials. It is therefore not surprising that constant efforts are being made to find innovative structural core materials, capable time and again of demonstrating their suitability for practical application in aviation solutions.
